Welcome to Avia House Calls

Your doctor will arrive prepared to treat many of the same problems and illnesses as a brick-and-mortar medical office.

What to expect from your home visit:

  • First, we will review the forms that were sent when you made your appointment.
  • Then, your doctor will want to learn more about you and the symptoms you are experiencing.
  • We will do an appropriate physical exam for your needs and perform lab tests, if necessary.
  • A care plan will be thoroughly reviewed with you.  This is the time to ask questions!  It's important to us that you are an informed participant in your own care.
  • At the end of your visit, payment will be taken and prescriptions will be provided, if necessary. You will then be given an itemized receipt which can, in many cases, be submitted for reimbursement from your insurance company.

What we need from you:

  • We need you to do your homework!  Please make sure you have filled out the forms that were sent when you made your appointment.  This allows your doctor to optimize time with YOU during the visit.
  • Write down any questions you may have, beforehand!  We will do our best to help you understand your health issues.
  • We will need a place to sit and talk with you, and space at a table or desk.  We need to be able to wash and dry our hands.  If you are having abdominal issues, ideally we would like you to lie down on a couch so we can do an appropriate abdominal exam.
  • *After we have learned about your symptoms, done our exam and completed any tests necessary, we need a few quiet moments.   We want to properly document those things, write prescriptions, and make sure we have the right information on your receipt so it can be submitted smoothly.
  • We love pets!  However, we need your help to stay fur-free for our next patients, who may have trouble with allergies.  Sometimes this means your fur baby needs to stay in another room during the visit.
  • We are fully vaccinated.  We will happily wear masks for anyone who feels more comfortable with this during the visit.

Note:  We are able to arrive in full PPE gown and mask if necessary.  Please let us know, before your visit, if someone is immunocompromised and requires or requests this.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
